Culture Determines if a Team is a Winner or Loser

I was half paying attention to the NFL draft and got to thinking.

What makes a winning team? What makes a losing team?

Culture. It's always culture. 

Every single one of the players drafted has exceptional talent. They are the best of the best. They have worked their tails off for years, focused on improving and learning. Some will continue to be successful. And some find themselves on a team of other tremendous athletes with a losing record. 

Success and winning isn't just about talent. Organizations can recruit the best and brightest. But if they don't have a healthy culture that is thoughtfully reinforced, they will end up failing. If they don't have leadership that understands how culture can unite, align and inspire, they can't reach their potential. 

Consider every successful coach. They all talk about the importance of culture. It is how coaches can come in and turn around a struggling team. Talent is important, but it isn't the deciding factor that determine success or failure.
